In the conclusive installment of "Obsession", it transpires that Stephen alternatively named James had fabricated an artificial identity to manipulate and control his victim Ellie. To be sure, he was once under the care of Dr.Angus who was seeing him due to his own obsessive-compulsive behaviors related to stalking people.

During this time period and throughout the series he harasses Ellie by writing notes for her as well as buying gifts then following her movements before invading her private space too many times to count which leaves not only Ellie but also those close to her worried for their safety. Upon discovering the truth, Ellie challenges Stephen and Dr. Angus with regard to their deceit.

Dr. Angus justifies his actions by stating that he believed Stephen was improving during their therapy sessions and wasn't a potential threat to anyone else. However, it becomes apparent that Dr. Angus underestimated Stephen's fixation on Ellie and his readiness to employ extreme measures in order to be near her. Ellie ultimately decides to file charges against Stephen for his misconduct.

The sequence concludes with Ellie initiating the healing process after her traumatic experience and wanting to rebuild her life.
